Meter Access

In most cases the electricity or gas meter for your property will either be inside your flat or in a riser cupboard in the communal stairwell.

If the latter, you will usually need a special key to gain access. It will usually be either a FB1 or FB2 key. These can be obtained easily online or over the counter at any key-cutter or locksmith. Any electrician or meter reader will routinely carry these keys with them.

We will be able to let you know where your meter is and how to access it. 

If you are having your meter changed, the electrician may need access to the Ryefield Fuse Board.  For safety reasons residents do not have access to these boards. Your electrician should have the special key required to access the board. Sometimes there is a code lock on the board. If this is the case please ask the electrician to call us on 0203 475 9067 for guidance.
