Can I keep a pet in my flat?

We are often asked if a pet can be kept in a flat. The answer depends on the terms of your Lease.

Some Leases allow pets only with the prior permission of the Freeholder or Resident Management Company.

Some Leases allow only certain animals, such as a single cat or dog.

Some Leases prohibit pets altogether.

If a pet is kept in a flat without the required consent, you may be forced to re-home it at a later date. This will obviously cause great distress, including to the pet, so to avoid this potentially very upsetting scenario, if you, or a tenant of yours, wishes to keep a pet in the flat it is best to contact us to check first and, if permitted, obtain any required licence to do so.
