Licence to Keep a Pet

Not all Leases require you to obtain a Licence to keep a pet in your property, but many do, and many others prohibit it altogether.

If your Lease prohibits keeping a pet in the property, or only allows it if prior consent is obtained and you fail to do so, you may be required to re-home the pet which, obviously, would be ver distressing for both the owner and the pet.

It is therefore strongly advisable to contact us before either obtaining the pet, or consenting to a tenant keeping one, to see if a Licence is required. If it is we will give details of the procedure to be followed, and any cost involved, in obtaining that Licence.

Please note that if a Licence is granted it will always be on conditions, including that it may be revoked (requiring the pet to be re-homed) if the pet causes a nuisance to other residents in the building.
